The New / Young Dulcimer Players Forum Goes to School

After three to four months of working with administrators and teachers the NYDPF is offering a forum for schools that teach mountain dulcimer to their students.  Starting on May 2nd our pilot school will have its first New / Young Dulcimer Players Forum on my web site during their regular class time and they have already scheduled a second forum that will take place on May 16th with me and special guest host Bing Futch.  The pilot school has two classes of mountain dulcimer students that are made up of 5th and 6th graders.  The dulcimer students will all be signed into the forum via their media / computer lab at their school.  Like my other forums, we will be discussing a topic related to the mountain dulcimer.  I hope to have future forums that will include special guest hosts which will give the students access to other dulcimer instructors, performers and builders that they may never have had the chance to meet.

I would like to see more schools take advantage of this opportunity so if you know of a school that would like to have an opportunity like this for their dulcimer students please have them contact me via my email address, dulcimermusic@bellsouth.net, and I will be happy to forward, for their review, all the information I have on the steps we went through to set up the forum for our pilot school.

You can check out the New / Young Dulcimer Players Forum by clicking in the "Forum" tab on the left side of this screen.

Keep Playing The Music!
